Hollis’ first road trip! And first Christmas!

Ryan and I spent time in Oklahoma with my family over our Christmas holiday.  With a cousin safely back from Iraq and another cousin visiting from his wild and crazy adventures in DC – it was a great family Christmas.

We brought the dog to my “cats only” parent’s house.  I now fully understand the phrase: bull in a china shop.  The minute we got there, Hollis marched (bounded, really) over to the china cabinet and placed his wet nose and paw IN the china cabinet between two pieces of my mother’s high-profile-Southeby’s-auction-obtained china.  So we took Hollis outside to my parents fence-less yard, where he attempted to herd – thus run away with – a rogue dog that appeared to be a scary mix of Rottweiler and Wolf.  We finally caught Hollis, but it took a lot of trickery.  And a little witchcraft.

I knew it would be a long few days.

Luckily for us - my hometown has stepped it up!  They have a lovely dog park!

Complete with boys and girls fire-hydrants, this park had lots of open space for Hollis to play Frisbee in the snow.

And it’s next to a duck pond which is fun.  It also had separate space for little dogs and big dogs.

Fun for Hollis – but the freezing winds were not fun for us.  I wonder if Hollis wanted a little coat like Mac has?  Burrr!  Here are some pics from the park …

What a handsome pup!
