Stephanie and Mason are having a boy!  No longer referring to their baby as a type of produce, we can now say “he” and really start the Two Blue Peas shopping experience!

To celebrate the gender revelation of this little Cajun baby, I prepared some chicken and sausage gumbo last night.  This was my first attempt at making roux.  Let’s just say that it did not “go well.”  I almost burned the house down.  The loud sizzle and puff and smoke from the burning fat scared Hollis so much that he ran under the bed and kept his tail between his legs for about 30 minutes.  Fearing for his mental well being, I forced Ryan out of study mode and asked him to “Help my Hollis!”  Ryan picked Hollis up, threw him on the bed (forbidden!) and Hollis’ tail wagged again.  You know, I’m really only happy if Hollis is happy.  I love you Hollis! 

So, to recap: Stephanie and Mason are actually having a son … and I think my dog is my son.
