Happy Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Blog Readers, please welcome Martin to Hil Street!

Our new kitten’s name is Martin Luther.  Named after the man who set the very first grace-alone-domino in motion beginning the Protestant Reformation (my favorite subject ever), it is fitting that we picked this cat up from the Northwest Austin Cat Rescue during Martin Luther King Day weekend.

We showed Hollis to Martin at a safe distance, and Martin hissed!  So, we read online (if it’s on Wikipedia it has to be true because anyone can edit it) to introduce cats and dogs by letting them eat on opposite sides of a door, so the happy-dinner smells coincide with the animal smells.  We also called Ginny for advice since Pinky (dog) and Clyde (cat) are the best of friends.  Ellie has also given sound advice.

Hollis is very excited and happy to meet his new friend … we just need to get Martin ready.  I hope to have a happy home like Manny and Roxie have in Seattle or like Sunshine and The Fritz/Crackbaby family had in Edmond or Lourdes’ township of cats and Joey’s dog or Lexi and Rocky/Elton have in Austin.
