Things I learned planning a baby shower

1. The friends who throw baby showers are usually are the ones who don’t have kids. They can throw the baby shower, because they have time (because they don’t have kids).  We also have no idea what a mother wants in a baby shower!  I got lost in Babies ‘R’ Us looking for onesies.  I missed yoga because I was lost in the bowels of socks, diapers, and cribs.  I am not equipped for this business. I should stick to my Two Blue Peas shopping.

2. Label the alcoholic punch.  If not, you will have the pregnant guest of honor giggling near the wrong punch bowl.

3. Target gift cards are a good unisex game prize – thanks for the tip, Sarah.

4. Hollis should NOT attend baby showers.

5. Make sure your A/C can handle a crowd at your humble abode during a heat wave.  Mary (pregnant) was a little crowded and got hot.

6. All our decorations were gifts for the parents, and that was a hit. Baby sock corsages are way cute.  So are baby onesies hanging from twine. Thanks for the ideas, Lacy and Morgan.

7. If you do the twine thing … don’t leave your cat alone.  Even for two minutes …

I LOVE the decoration ideas! Can you upload a baby sock corsage? I want to steal them both!
