Sarah made Ridley this blanket. I love everything about it. A handmade gift arrives with so much love. She should have kept it a little longer to bundle up because Nashville is planning for a wind chill of -5° F today.
As I looked around the nursery deciding where to put the blanket that Sarah made, I realized that five years ago Sarah’s same hands painted the nursery walls yellow.
Now that’s a good friend.
Martin likes it too.

Are you wondering how the animals are doing?
Hollis is very interested in Ridley and is always part of the action (as you can see).
Martin is less impressed with Ridley, but is still curious about our new addition. He sniffs Ridley and his toys, and enjoys sleeping in the nursery chair. And to be honest, Martin may be enjoying my distraction. Before Ridley (B.R.), I smothered Martin with attention. Now Martin gets a more “normal” or “appropriate” amount of attention from me and I think his independent-cat personality likes it.

A Sweet Story about My Fur Babies

Hollis used to stay in his crate in our bedroom when we went to work. For his own safety, really.
When Hollis napped in his crate, Martin would sleep in our bedroom where Hollis was. It was sweet to come home and see them both asleep. Now that Hollis has free reign of the house, we are pretty sure he naps on the couch all day. And that’s also where we now find Martin when we get home.
They are friends. I think that’s sweet.
